The transect method was used to investigate the resources of Cyatheaceae in 70 nature reserves in Guangdong,and their distribution and population were compared and analyzed based on historical data.The results showed that among the 70 protected areas and some non-protected areas,32 protected areas and 3 non-protected areas had 5 species of Cyatheaceae,accounting for 55.56％of all the 9 species in Guangdong.Among them,there are 1040 individuals of Alsophila spinulosa in 32 nature reserves;There are 428 individuals of A.gigantea in 6 nature reserves;There are 270 individuals of Gymnosphaera denticulata in 3 nature reserves;There are 676 individuals of G.podophylla in 15 nature reserves;There are 400 individuals of G.metteniana in 14 nature reserves.Among them,three national key protected plants(Alsophila spinulosa,A.gigantea and Gymnosphaera podophylla),especially the populations in non-nature reserves need to strengthen supervision,publicity and scientific research to ensure the survival and development of their populations.
