Spatiotemporal Dynamic Evaluation of Human Settlement Environment Quality in Megacities——A Case Study of Beijing
The human settlement environment quality is an important index to measure the level of urban develop-ment.Based on long-term series multi-source data, this study constructed a comprehensive evaluation system for the quality of human settlements in megacities consisting of five natural background single factor indexes, such as temperature-humidity index and wind efficiency index, and five human-social single factor indexes, such as night light index and medical care index. The temporal and spatial differences of human settlements quality in Beijing from 2012 to 2022 were analyzed and evaluated.Research shows that:① Over the past decade, the average com-prehensive index of natural background factors in Beijing has increased by 41.87%,but the overall average is only 0.2531,indicating a low livability of the natural environment in the entire region.② The average increase in the comprehensive index of human and social factors in the six urban areas of Beijing's central city over the past dec-ade(25.16%)is lower than that of the other 10 districts(39.28%),indicating that human and social resources such as healthcare, transportation, and education are showing a trend of"spillover"from the center to the periphery.③The quality of human settlement environment in Beijing is gradually improving, but the coordination of regional development is insufficient.Xicheng District,Dongcheng District,Chaoyang District, and Haidian District are sta-ble in the first tier;Fengtai District and Shijingshan District are in the second tier;Changping District,Daxing District,Shunyi District, and Tongzhou District are in the third tier, while Fangshan District,Huairou District,Mentougou District,Miyun District,Pinggu District, and Yanqing District are in the fourth tier.
