Based on three Landsat TM/OLI images from 2000 to 2020,the ecosystem pattern and changes in the western region are analyzed. The results indicate that through statistical analysis of the distribution and composi-tion,area change rate, and transformation characteristics of ecosystem types in the western region of Jilin Province from 2000 to 2020,the pattern status and change characteristics were systematically grasped. The evaluation shows that only Qian'an County(0.85)showed a positive change in ecological pattern indicators between 2000 and 2010,with an increase of 1.71%;The other counties have negative changes, and the ecological pattern index has de-creased the least in Ningjiang District(4.27),with a decrease of 8.95%.From 2010 to 2020,the changes in ecolog-ical pattern indicators were only positive in the built-up areas of Ningjiang District(0.07)and Taobei District(0.42),with an increase of 0.15%and 1.09%,respectively.The remaining county ecological pattern indicators de-creased,with Taonan City(1.82)showing the least decrease, with a decrease of 3.91%.From 2000 to 2020,only Qian'an County(0.33)showed an increase in ecological pattern indicators, with an increase rate of 0.67%;The ec-ological pattern indicators of other counties have decreased, with Zhenlai County(4.87)showing the least de-crease,with an increase of 7.91%.The ecological pattern provides strong support for macroeconomic decision-making and ecological civilization construction in social and economic development, and provides scientific deci-sion-making basis for maintaining ecological security in the western region.
