Response of Vegetation Changes to Meteorological Drought in Anhui Province From 2011 to 2020
Anhui Province,as a region sensitive to climate and ecologically vulnerable in China,is facing increas-ingly significant challenges from the impacts of extreme climate events.Due to the asymmetrical response of veg-etation to drought, the specific impact of vegetation changes on drought in Anhui Province remains unclear. In or-der to address this issue, this study analyzes the spatiotemporal distribution characteristics of the Standardized Precipitation Evapotranspiration Index(SPEI)and Normalized Difference Vegetation Index(NDVI)in Anhui Province from 2011 to 2020 and explores the influence of meteorological drought on vegetation changes during this period. The research indicates that, from 2011 to 2020,SPEI in the central region of Anhui Province increased, showing an overall spatial trend of drought weakening.Concurrently,NDVI decreased overall during the same pe-riod,with a significant decline in the north,a slow decline in the central-southern regions, and a slight increase in the east.Through the analysis of the correlation and time lag effects between SPEI and NDVI,it was observed that vegetation response to drought is almost immediate in the northern and southern regions, while the central region exhibits a relative lag, possibly influenced by other factors. This study enhances our understanding of the climate-vegetation relationship in Anhui Province, providing theoretical support for addressing drought risks under cli-mate change.
