Urban Park Planning and Design Research Based on the Sponge City Concept——A Case Study of a City Park
Focused on the Sponge City concept,this study proposed an urban park planning and design scheme based on the Sponge City concept and conducted a design practice using a city park in Weihai as a case study.Due to the unique geographical location,climate characteristics,and hydrological conditions of this city park,the plan-ning and design practice required the pursuit of goals such as promoting ecological restoration,strengthening rain-water management,creating a multifunctional ecological leisure space,establishing a green transportation network,facilitating environmental education and the dissemination of cultural values,as well as integrating landscape beautification with ecological functionality.The research results indicate that the effective integration of the Sponge City concept into the urban park planning and design process can significantly enhance the environmental quality and social functionality of urban parks,thus playing a crucial role in promoting urban sustainable develop-ment.
