A Comparative Study on the Physiological Mechanisms of Salt Tolerance in Different Varieties of Camellia oleifera Ael.
This paper aims to explore the physiological mechanisms of salt tolerance in different varieties of Ca-mellia oleifera. This study took Wuming District,Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region as the experimental site, and set up three varieties of Camellia oleifera, namely"Cenruan 2","Cenruan 3",and"Ganxing 48",to evaluate the pigment content,MDA content, and SOD activity of different varieties of Camellia oleifera slices. The physiologi-cal mechanisms of salt tolerance of different varieties of Camellia oleifera were compared. There are significant differences in leaf pigment content,MDA content, and SOD activity among different varieties of Camellia oleifera Ael.under salt alkali stress.Salt alkali stress can lead to a decrease in the content of Chlorophyll a and Chloro-phyll b.Among them,"Cenruan 3"Camellia oleifera has the largest decrease in Chlorophyll a and Chlorophyll b content;"Cenruan 2"and"Cenruan 3"Camellia oil will increase the synthesis of carotenoids to resist stress, while"Ganxing 48"Camellia oil Ael.will reduce the content of carotenoids;"Ganxing 48"Camellia oleifera Ael.is more susceptible to oxidative stress, resulting in higher MDA content;"Cenruan No.2"and"Cenruan No.3"Camel-lia oleifera Ael.have stronger antioxidant capacity and can more effectively resist oxidative damage caused by salt alkali stress, with the largest increase in SOD activity. This study provides scientific basis for the sustainable de-velopment of Camellia oleifera Ael.planting industry and saline alkali soil management.
