Effects of Planting Density on the Growth and Flowering of Camellia Nitidissima
To explore the effects of different planting densities on the growth and flowering of Camellia nitidissi-ma,this study used Fenghuang Mountain Forest Farm in Chongzuo City,Guangxi Province as the experimental site, and set up four different planting densities of 1500,2000,2500,and 3000 plants/hm2.The flowering rate, plant height, crown width, diameter, root biomass, stem biomass, leaf biomass, and overall plant biomass of Camellia ni-tidissima were compared under different planting densities. The effects of different planting densities on the flow-ering rate and growth of Camellia nitidissima were studied. The results showed that under a planting density of 3000 plants/hm2,the number of flower buds of Camellia nitidissima was the highest,at 3.65,and the flowering rate of nitidissima was the highest at a planting density of 2500 plants/hm2,at 28.42%;The annual growth rates of plant height, crown width, ground diameter, root biomass, stem biomass, leaf biomass, and whole plant biomass of Camellia nitidissima were the highest at a planting density of 2500 plants/hm2,with values of 21.35 cm,0.12 cm,0.44 cm,176.20 g/plant,222.76 g/plant,75.23 g/plant,and 495.28 g/plant,respectively.The results show that high-er planting density can significantly increase the number of flower buds in Camellia nitidissima, while the flower-ing rate shows a trend of first increasing and then decreasing with the continuous increase of planting density; The influence of planting density on plant height, crown width, and ground diameter is relatively small, and the differ-ences are not significant. The root biomass, stem biomass, leaf biomass, and whole plant biomass are significantly affected by planting density, showing a trend of first increasing and then decreasing with the increase of planting density. This study provides a theoretical basis for the scientific cultivation of Camellia nitidissima.
