To investigate the spatiotemporal variations of sunshine duration in Chongqing Municipality, and analyze the factors influencing these variations, data from 34 meteorological stations in Chongqing from 1961 to 2020 is u-tilized,including daily sunshine duration, wind speed, temperature, total cloud cover, and relative humidity.Meth-ods such as the Mann-Kendall(M-K)test,wavelet analysis, and spatiotemporal hotspot detection are employed to analyze the spatiotemporal changes of sunshine duration in the region and identify the influencing factors. The re-sults show that:① The sunshine hours in Chongqing present a distribution characteristic of"high in the northeast and low in the southeast".High values are concentrated in Wushan,Wuxi and other places;low values are concen-trated in Pengshui,Youyang and other places.②The annual average sunshine hours showed a very significant downward trend;the abrupt change year was 1979,and the main period of oscillation was 46a.All seasons except spring show a downward trend.③ Spatial-temporal pattern mining shows that the sunshine hours in the past 60 years present a mixed clustering and oscillating cold spot pattern.④ The seasonal variations in correlation coeffi-cients indicate that the relationships between the factors and sunshine duration are not constant throughout the year.Among them, wind speed, total cloud cover, and relative humidity show significant correlations with sunshine dura-tion in all four seasons.Precipitation and temperature,on the other hand, are closely related to sunshine duration primarily in the summer season.
