Observation of Ciconia nigra Overwintering in Lizi Forest Farm Based on High Precision Rotating Platform of Forest Fire Prevention Watchtower
This paper aims to understand the population size, living habits, spatial distribution, and factors af-fecting habitat selection of winter Ciconia nigra in Lizi Forest Farm, and to strengthen monitoring and protection of the forest farm and surrounding Ciconia nigra. From 2020 to 2024,continuous observation of wintering Cico-nia nigra was carried out using the high-precision turntable equipment deployed in the front end of the Lizilin Forest Fire Prevention Comprehensive Management System. The results showed that there were more than 7 over-wintering Ciconia nigra in the Lizi Forest Farm, with a relatively small and unstable population, mainly consis-ting of adult birds. The main behaviors of overwintering Ciconia nigra are foraging and resting, with recording frequencies accounting for 27.13%and 47.26%respectively,and time allocation accounting for 21.69%and 62.84%,respectively.The main factors affecting the habitat selection of overwintering Ciconia nigra are terrain, vegetation, and human interference.
