Investigation and Evaluation of Terrestrial Wild Vertebrate Resources in Yongshun County
A survey of terrestrial vertebrate resources was conducted in Yongshun County,Hunan Province from January 2022 to July 2023.The survey results show that there are 311 species of terrestrial wild vertebrates in 4 classes,26 orders,87 families,in Yongshun County.Among them:there are 31 species in 8 families and 2 orders of amphibians;40 species in 12 families and 2 orders of reptiles;191 species in 50 families and 15 orders of birds;49 species in 17 families and 7 orders of mammals;The group composition is mainly composed of birds.Among them,there are 6 first-class protected animals,42 second-class protected animals,175 third class animals,and 111 provincial key protected animals;There are 3 critically endangered(CR)species,10 endangered(EN)species,19 vulnerable(VU)species,and 35 nearly endangered(NT)species.Yongshun County has abundant terrestrial wild vertebrate resources,and it is recommended to continue strengthening protection measures to ensure the rich-ness of biodiversity in the county.
