Analysis of the Stratified Sampling Design for Forest Biomass in Simao District,Pu'er City
Accurate assessment of biomass is of paramount importance for forestry resource management and car-bon sink evaluation.Using the Simao District of Yunnan Province as a case study, this research employs geostatis-tical methods to analyze the spatial distribution characteristics of biomass in the area.It also compares the impact of different interpolation and sampling methods on biomass estimation. The findings indicate that the biomass in Simao District exhibits a slight positive spatial autocorrelation but exhibits strong spatial heterogeneity. The inter-polation effect of the ordinary Kriging method is better.Compared to systematic sampling, various stratified sam-pling methods can significantly enhance sampling accuracy, with stratified sampling considering dominant tree species performing the best.In summary, conducting stratified sampling for biomass with spatial heterogeneity can achieve higher estimation accuracy than traditional methods.Proper selection of stratification variables is crucial for enhancing sampling accuracy.
