Effects of Cadmium Stress on Growth,Photosynthesis and Physiological Characteristics of Viola tricolor L.
In order to explore the changes in the growth, photosynthetic characteristics and physiological responses of Viola tricolor L.under Cd stress, this study used a pot experiment to measure the changes in growth,photosyn-thesis and stress-resistance physiological indicators of Viola tricolor L.grown in different Cd concentrations(0,5,10,20,50,100 and 200 mg/kg),which expected to provide a theoretical basis for the Cd tolerance determination of Viola tricolor L.,its application in Cd-contaminated soil and the screening of potential Cd-contaminated remedia-tion plants. The results showed that at low concentrations(5~10 mg/kg),the growth indicators, net photosynthetic rate, and transpiration rate of Viola tricolor L.increased slightly, and the content of soluble protein, soluble sugar, and free proline increased as well as SOD,POD,and CAT activation, showing a certain degree of Cd tolerance;when the Cd concentration is high(≥100 mg/kg),Viola tricolor L.shows obvious toxic effects.Growth and pho-tosynthesis inhibited;SPAD value decreased;MDA content increased significantly;enzymatic protection system activity and osmotic adjustment substance content decreased. The prolongation of the stress time generally plays the role of deepening the stress.
