Effects of Comprehensive Tending Measures on the Growth and Soil Nutrient Content of Cunninghamia lanceolata Forest
To investigate and analyze the effects of comprehensive tending measures(thinning+weeding+pruning+fertilization)on the growth and soil nutrient content of Cunninghamia lanceolata forest, experimental bases were selected in Jianyang District,Nanping City,Fujian Province, and grouped according to differences in tending measures.Without any tending treatment,CK group was included;thinning+weeding+pruning was included in T1 group;thinning+weeding+pruning+fertilization was included in T2 group, and thinning+weeding+pruning+fertilization was included in T3 group. The effects of different tending measures on the growth and soil nutrient content of Cunninghamia lanceolata forest were compared. The advantages of comprehen-sive parenting measures were analyzed. Results:There was no difference in mean DBH between T2 and T3 groups, and no difference in mean stock volume between T1 and T2 groups(P>0.05).Average DBH,average tree height, average stock volume and average volume of T3 group were higher than those of the other three groups(P<0.05).The new species of shrubs, herbs and vines treated with T3,T2,T1 and T3 were higher than those of the other three groups in the overall ranking:T3>T2>T1>CK.Other soil nutrient indexes in tending group were higher than those in CK group(P<0.05),but there were no significant differences in alkali-hydrolytic ni-trogen,available phosphorus and organic matter between T1 and T2(P>0.05).The indexes of alkali-hydrolyzed nitrogen, available phosphorus, available potassium and organic matter in T3 group were higher than those in the other three groups(P<0.05).The mass water content and porosity in T3 group were higher than those in the oth-er three groups(P<0.05),and the soil bulk density was lower.Comprehensive management measures(thinning+weeding+pruning+fertilization)can improve soil properties, increase soil nutrients and promote the growth of Cunninghamia lanceolata forest.
