Analysis of the Effectiveness of Introducing and Testing Pennisetum Giganteum
In order to understand the ecological and economic impacts of introducing(Pennisetum giganteum z.x.lin),a field and interview survey was conducted on 6 plots of Pennisetum giganteum planted in 4 townships and 5 villages in Huize County. As a result, the representative planting plots in the county include three types of 39.33hm2.Among them,15.66 hm2 of farmland is contracted by large households for cultivation, with an annual output of 180~315t/hm2,accounting for 39.85%of the planting area, all of which are used as feed for large households to raise beef cattle;Planting 3.67 hm2 on field ridges with an annual yield of 150 t/hm2,accounting for 9.3%of the planting area,is mainly used by farmers as their own feed for cattle and sheep; The Central Grassland Ecological Restoration Project cultivates 20 hectares of barren mountains and slopes, with an annual output of 105 t/hm2,accounting for 50.85%of the planting area. The main purpose is to restore ecology, maintain soil and water, and prevent grassland degradation. The introduction of Pennisetum giganteum cultivation has brought about the development of animal husbandry and further strengthened the protection of the ecological environment,pro-viding a reference for the scientific development of breeding and ecological grassland degradation and restoration.
