Preliminary Report on the Identification of the Pathogen Causing Root Rot on Blueberry in Yunnan
In order to clarify the species of pathogenic bacteria causing blueberry root rot in Yunnan, this study used conventional tissue separation and purification methods to isolate and purify the pathogenic bacteria from the diseased blueberry roots, and used Koch's rule to verify the pathogenicity of the suspected pathogenic bacterial strains. The species are identified by combining the morphological characteristics of the strains and ITS sequence phylogenetic analysis. The results showed that Fusarium commune could cause blueberry root rot, which was first reported in Yunnan Province. The optimal temperature for mycelia growth of the pathogen was 25~30 ℃.The optimal carbon source was starch and lactose. The optimal nitrogen source was beef paste, potassium nitrate and peptone. The optimal pH was 6~9,and it had a strong survival ability. The results provided a theoretical basis for the comprehensive control of Yunnan blueberry root rot.
