Alkalization Derivatization-Determination of Trichloroacetaldehyde in Solid Wastes by Headspace GC
Alkalizing Trichloroacetaldehyde to Chloroform,Headspace(HS)GC was applied to the determination of Trichloroacetaldehyde in solid wastes. The test conditions of sodium hydroxide concentration, test temperature and time were optimized. The 2.00g sample was weighed and placed in the HS-flask,followed by 10ml pure water and 0.l ml 100 g/L sodium hydroxide. The mixture was shaken for 30min at constant temperature of 60℃.The content of trichloroacetaldehyde was calculated by subtracting the value of Chloroform before and after Alkaline hydroly-sis of sample determined by HS-GC.Linear relationship between values of peak area and mass concentration Tri-chloroacetaldehyde was found in the range of 20.0~800 μg/kg,with detection limit(3.14s)of 5 μg/kg.Recovery was tested on the bank sample by standard addition method, giving results in range of 85.3%~116%,with RSDs(n=6)of determined values less than 15%.The proposed method has been applied to the analysis of solid wastes and values of recovery ranged from 79.5%to 112%.
