Behavioral Needs of Users and Optimization Strategies for Underground Commercial Spaces in Subway Stations——Taking Chengdu East Railway Station as an Example
This paper aims to improve the underground commercial space of metro station with unsatisfactory op-eration condition, irrational space organization and poor environmental quality.Taking the underground commer-cial space of Chengdu East Railway Station as an example, from the user's behavioral needs, this paper observes and records the overall overview of the station as well as the behavioral activities of the space users through field research, and collects the user's evaluations on the space organization, environment, functions, facilities and other aspects through questionnaires,to summarize the behavioral needs of the users of the underground commercial space of the metro station in Chengdu. The study found that the traffic function of the underground commercial space of the East Railway Station basically meets the demand, but there are problems such as single commercial type, lack of interactivity in the space, insufficient cultural embodiment, difficulty in finding barrier-free facili-ties,and serious lack of rest facilities.According to the results of the study, this paper proposes the optimization design strategy of underground commercial space of East Railway Station from four aspects:spatial form, spatial interface, spatial culture and supporting facilities.
