Effect of Slow-Release Nitrogen Fertilizer on the Growth of Young Pinus massoniana Plantations
This paper aims to investigate the effect of slow-release nitrogen fertilizer on the growth of young Pinus massoniana plantations. This study took Huishui County,Guizhou Province as the experimental site, and set up three experimental groups:B:nitrogen fertilizer,C:phosphorus fertilizer,D:potassium fertilizer, and A(no fertili-zation)one control group to evaluate the growth and biomass of young Pinus massoniana forests under different fertilization methods. The effects of different fertilization schemes on the quality and biomass of young Pinus massoniana forests were compared. The growth status of young Pinus massoniana forests in treatment group B(ni-trogen fertilizer)was generally good, with plant height, volume, and diameter at breast height of 3.87 m,0.0044 m3,and 4.84 cm,respectively, which increased by 24.04%,37.5%,and 10.05%compared to treatment group A;The biomass accumulation of young Pinus massoniana forest in treatment group B(nitrogen fertilizer)is generally good, with branch biomass of 5.24 t/hm2,needle biomass of 3.87 t/hm2,root biomass of 4.77 t/hm2,and whole plant biomass of 14.27 t/hm2.Compared with treatment group A,the biomass increased by 142.59%,138.88%,116.29%,and 104.15%,respectively.Different fertilization methods have significant differences in the growth in-dicators and biomass of young Pinus massoniana forests. The application of nitrogen fertilizer(treatment group B)has the best effect, promoting the growth of young forest height, volume, and diameter at breast height,as well as the accumulation of biomass in various parts of the forest. The application of phosphorus fertilizer(treatment group C)and potassium fertilizer(treatment group D)also has a certain positive effect on the growth of young Pi-nus massoniana forests, but the effect is worse than that of nitrogen fertilizer. This study provides a theoretical ba-sis for scientific fertilization of young Pinus massoniana forests.
