Promotion Study of Gossypium hirsutum L.Summer Sowing Short-Season Light Simplified Cultivation Mode in Taoyuan County
The demand for Gossypium hirsutum L.keeps rising as a result of the social and economic advance-ments in our nation.However,it is challenging to greatly expand the Gossypium hirsutum L.planting area because of the decrease in the amount of farmed land and the strain of ensuring food security.To satisfy domestic Gos-sypium hirsutum L.demand,it is crucial to raise Gossypium hirsutum L.production per unit area.Changde,in Hunan province,is a prominent Gossypium hirsutum L.producing city.The old refined cultivation model with its"wide rows and sparse planting,large trees and strong plants,and large amounts of water and fertilizer"has a high yield per unit area,but it is labor-intensive and hard to modify to fit the current agricultural growth trend.In Taoyuan County,this study performed surveys and experimental experiments to investigate novel methods for rai-sing Gossypium hirsutum L.yield levels.Firstly,the Gossypium hirsutum L.production demonstration sites in Taoyuan County in 2023 were investigated to understand the different varieties,cultivation methods,planting den-sity,etc.,and the planting cost,yield,income and mechanization degree of Gossypium hirsutum L.farmers from 2020 to 2022 were investigated.Next,in the production demonstration areas,a comparison test between standard and short-season light and simplified versions was conducted.The findings demonstrated that although while the short-season model produced fewer bolls per plant,the higher planting density under the model led to a higher yield per unit area than the conventional model.The net income per unit area of the short-season model is 168 yuan more than that of the conventional model when the purchasing price is 8 yuan per kilogram.On the whole,the short season and light and simplified cultivation mode of Gossypium hirsutum L.summer sowing is expected to improve the Gossypium hirsutum L.yield per unit area and the income of Gossypium hirsutum L.farmers in Changde,adapt to the rising trend of rural labor costs,take into account the grain and Gossypium hirsutum L.sea-son arrangement,and have a good promotion prospect,but in the actual promotion,flexible adjustment should be combined with the actual local situation.
