Based on the precipitation observation day data of Guiyang National Benchmark Climate Station from 1961 to 2023,four sets of 8 precipitation extreme indices were selected to analyze the temporal trend of extreme precipitation climate events in Guiyang. The results showed that:① Extreme precipitation climate events showed an overall increasing trend, with RX1day,SDII,R50mm,R95p,and R99p increasing year by year, while CDD and CWD decreasing year by year.②RX1day and R20mm underwent significant mutations in 1986 and 1989;SDII,R95p,and R99p mutated in 1982,1997,and 1990 respectively, but the mutations were not significant.③The aver-age values of CDD,RX1day,SDII,R50mm,R95p,and R99p in the 1990s and 2010s were significantly higher than those in other eras; The average values of CWD and R20mm in the 2010s were also higher than those in the first decade of the 20th century since the 2010s.④The extreme precipitation intensity in Guiyang has increased, with the maximum values of RX1day,SDII,R20mm,R50mm,and R95p appearing from 2014 to 2020.
