Research on Extraction and Quantification Methods of Spatial Pedigree of Rural Settlements in Wugang City
In order to investigate the methods of spatial genealogy extraction and quantitative research of rural set-tlements,this paper utilizes geographic information technologies such as ArcGIS 8.0 and DEM 30M to conduct a quantitative analysis of the spatial genes of rural settlements in Wugang City,Henan Province. The study reveals that the distribution of settlements is closely correlated with terrain, population, and other factors, primarily con-centrated in the northeast and southwest regions with low elevation, forming a dense pattern in these areas while being sparse in the northwest and southeast.Population density and settlement size reflect agricultural production and population demand, with the northeast and southwest regions densely settled due to their low terrain and con-venient transportation. The average settlement size is 3 hm2,lower than the national average;however, the density is condensed with small regional differences.Settlement agglomeration is closely linked to topographic conditions and concentrated at altitudes between 10~300 m.This study provides a scientific foundation for understanding the spatial characteristics of rural settlements in North China Plain, offering valuable insights for rural planning, management,as well as implementation of rural revitalization strategies.Future studies may further explore the e-volution of spatial genes in rural settlements and their application in sustainable rural development.
