Research on Comprehensive Zoning of Nature Conservation in Guizhou Province
To understand the differentiation law of protected objects in different regions, comprehensive zoning can be carried out based on the differentiation law, which provides basic data for the construction of protected area system and decision-making basis for the management and development of protected areas.By employing the"top-down"and"bottom-up"zoning methods it utilizes Guizhou's landscape layout as the zoning framework and incorporates factors such as natural vegetation, ecosystems, wildlife resources under key protection, and important natural and cultural landscapes for overlay analysis, integrating geographical attributes and functional traits of the region to delineate a holistic comprehensive zoning plan for natural preservation in Guizhou Province. The results show that,in line with the distribution pattern of"four mountains and eight rivers"in Guizhou,it is divided into the Yangtze River basin and the Pearl River basin, highlighting the main physical and geographical attributes and functional characteristics of the region.Eight zones are obtained:Dalou Mountain-Chishui River Biodiversity Ec-ological Protection Zone,Wuling Mountain-Wujiang River Lower Reaches Biodiversity Ecological Protection Zone,Wuling Mountain-Yuanjiang River Source Biodiversity Ecological Protection Zone,Miaoling-Duliu River Biodiversity Ecological Protection Zone,Miaoling-Hongshui River Water and Soil Conservation Ecological Pro-tection Zone,South-North Panjiang River Water and Soil Conservation Ecological Protection Zone,Wujiang Riv-er-Wumeng Mountain-Niulan River Water Conservation Ecological Protection Zone, and Wujiang River Middle Reaches-the Central Guizhou mountain plateau hill karst landscape protection area.It turns out that:① Utilizing publicly available scientific research achievements as fundamental data and conducting comprehensive zoning studies for natural protected areas and natural protected objects helps reduce artificial selection biases in index se-lection and data usage.② The zoning hierarchy system is created by merging natural geographical attributes with functional characteristics, which facilitates the representation of the overall situation of geomorphic patterns and resource distribution.③ The discussion on conformity of the three-level zoning reflects the resource differences in each zone, verifies the objectivity and accuracy of the comprehensive zoning, and makes the zoning results more comprehensive and instructive.
