Investigation and Risk Assessment of Soil Pollution in an Oil Storage Site
The site of an oil storage in Guangdong Province has been relocated and demolished, and it is planned to be used for education land(A31),park green space(G1)and roads(excluding community parks and children's parks)in the future.According to relevant laws and policies,an investigation into the soil and groundwater pollu-tion status of the site needs to be carried out. After investigation, the soil in the plot was contaminated with heavy metals lead, arsenic and petroleum hydrocarbons(C10-C40).Therefore,a risk assessment was carried out on the pol-lution of the site. The analysis shows that arsenic, lead and petroleum hydrocarbon(C10-C40)in soil pose unaccept-able risks to human health under the scenario that the future plot is used as the second type of land use,and fur-ther restoration projects are needed. The total area of risk control/repair was 10177.19 m2,and the total amount of risk control/repair was 29,395.54 m3.This study provides a basis for the implementation of the next phase of work.
