Analysis and Evaluation of Wind Energy Resources Based on Weibull Distribution——Taking Zhengzhou City as an Example
Based on the average wind speed and wind direction data recorded from 2003 to 2017 at eight national meteorological observation stations in Zhengzhou City, this study calculates the key wind technical parameters such as annual average wind speed, annual effective wind power hours, annual average wind power density and wind direction frequency through the Weibull distribution function, and comprehensively evaluates the status of the wind resources and the prospect of wind power generation in Zhengzhou City. The results show that the annual average wind speed at a height of 10 m above the ground in Zhengzhou City shows a decreasing trend year by year, and the annual average wind speed shows a decreasing spatial distribution pattern from the west to the east of Zhengzhou City.Zhengzhou area wind energy resources are poor on the whole but the wind energy resources in Songshan area has a significant advantage.Songshan region is a wind energy rich area, with an average wind speed of 4.6m/s.Effective wind hours are more than 6000 h,and an average wind power density is more than 200 W/m2.The wind direction and frequency distribution is good and the wind distribution is more centralized, with good economic benefits and investment value.
