Influence of Rheology on the Distribution of Paste in Pervious Concrete
To reduce the sagging of paste in pervious concrete and improve the stability and water permeability, the effect of rheology of paste on the adhesion ability of paste and pervious performance of pervious concrete was studied. The results show that the adhesion ability of paste on aggregate surface increase with the surface area of aggregate and high shear viscosity of paste, but is weak correlation with yield stress. The permeability coefficient of pervious concrete ranged from 0 to 9.6mm/s when the paste to bone ratio was 30%,and the samples with a sat-urated adhesion less than 30%tend to have a small permeability coefficient,or even completely loses water per-meability.The pervious concretes prepared with a water binder ratio of 0.25 and appropriate amount of water-re-ducing admixture and thickener had better pervious performance than the pervious concrete whose water binder ratio was 0.35 or larger.
