Application of Herbaceous Flowers in the Afforestation of Xiangtan County
Herbaceous flowers have the characteristics of strong ornamental value and wide adaptability,so they are widely used in cities.In order to promote the better application of herbaceous flowers in Xiangtan County,a 5-year survey was conducted starting from 2020,including the types(varieties),growth status,flowering time,ap-plication methods,planting methods,and application locations of herbaceous flowers.The results show that in the past 5 years,a total of 21 types of herbaceous flowers have been used in Xiangtan County,mainly perennial herba-ceous flowers,including 16 traditional herbaceous flowers.The flowering period of herbaceous flowers covers the whole year,but is more concentrated from April to October.There is a significant difference in the types of appli-cations annually,with the highest number of applications in 2022 and 2023(11 types).The application forms of herbaceous flowers mainly include flower beds,flower ponds,flower platforms,flower borders,vertical greening,etc.The application locations are mainly road greening,park greening,and square greening,and the planting methods include potted,ground planting,and box planting.Herbaceous flowers played a good role in embellis-hing,decorating,and beautifying the afforestation of Xiangtan County.It is recommended that Xiangtan County strengthen the introduction of more ornamental herbaceous flower varieties,innovate herbaceous flower planting techniques and management models,strengthen the combination of county afforestation planning and herbaceous flower planting,and promote the popularization of herbaceous flower planting technology and knowledge.
