Avian Species Diversity in Ruoguo County-level Forest Park,Nanxiong,Shaoguan
To understand the status of bird resources in the Ruoguo County-level Forest Park(abbreviated as forest park)of Nanxiong city in Guangdong and to provide scientific basis for the park's bird conservation management decisions,field surveys were conducted on the bird resources of the forest park in March,May,October,and No-vember 2023.The line transect method and infrared camera technology were used for bird surveys.The results showed that a total of 88 bird species from 39 families in 13 orders were recorded,including 6 species of second-level national protected birds and 14 species of key protected birds in Guangdong province;the dominant birds belonged to the Oriental realm and were residents,accounting for 51.89％and 64.37％,respectively.The Shannon-Wiener diversity and Pielou evenness indices for birds in summer were the highest,and the Margalef richness in-dex for birds in spring was the highest.The species diversity,evenness,and richness of birds in the forest transect were all the highest;the bird community differences between the transects farthest and nearest from the village were the greatest.It is recommended that the management department of the forest park strengthen cooperation with scientific research institutions,and establish a comprehensive monitoring system in conjunction with intelli-gent equipment to better understand the status of bird resources in the forest park,serving the timely adjustment of protection and management policies.
