Analysis and Countermeasures of Changzhou's Waste Classification Based on Evaluation Index System
Since its initiation in 2017,the waste sorting program in Changzhou has achieved some progress but still faces numerous challenges.According to the recent evaluation results of urban waste classfication work re-leased by the Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development,Changzhou's performance is still unsatisfactory. To effectively improve urban waste classfication and enhance its quality, this study analyzed the scores and rank-ings of waste classfication assessment indicators for cities in Jiangsu Province.Based on in-depth research and data analysis,it investigates the problems and causes within Changzhou's waste classfication efforts. The findings indicate that Changzhou's performance across various evaluation indicators is mediocre, with issues primarily concentrated in areas such as institutional mechanisms, source reduction, classification of delivery, classification of collection and trans-portation,classification of treatment and grass-roots organization. The core reasons include insufficient attention to waste classfication, slow progress, and inadequate responsibility implementation.Accordingly,a series of targe-ted recommendations are proposed, including further improvement of institutional mechanisms, continuous infra-structure enhancements, innovative public education, increased support, strengthened resource utilization of sorted products, and extensive community mobilization, which provides a solid reference for enhancing the quality of Changzhou's waste classfication work.
