Ecological Protection Countermeasures for Hubei Dawu Pumped Storage Power Station
The construction of the pumped storage power station will have a negative impact on the surrounding ecological environment.It is important to properly handle the relationship between the construction of the pumped storage power station and the protection of the ecological environment.Taking the Hubei Dawu pumped storage power station as an example,from the ground surface vegetation,terrestrial aquatic animal and other major factors that constitute the ecological environment,the methods of ecological mechanism analysis,graphic overlay,analo-gy analysis and system analysis are used.The paper puts forward the countermeasures for ecological environment protection in pumped storage power station construction including in-situ conservation of old and valuable trees,avoidance of important species during breeding and wintering periods,ecological discharge,fish interception at water intakes,fish habitat restoration,and enhanced aquatic ecological management and monitoring.By taking the above ecological protection measures,the vegetation will be restored after the project is completed and put into production.The forest canopy density will reach 0.2 and the coverage rate of shrub and grassland will reach 0.4.From April to July,the average annual discharge of the dam site was 22%(0.0041 m3/s),and the average annual discharge of the dam site was 15%(0.0028 m3/s)in other periods.The proposed ecological protection measures can make the negative impact of the project construction on the ecological environment within the sustainable range of the ecosystem,which is of great significance for promoting regional economic development and environ-mental protection.
