Construction and Evaluation of the Shamian Ancient Tree Parks
In order to protect the ancient tree resources on Shamian Island,this paper determined the construction of the ancient tree park according to the spatial distribution characteristics of the ancient tree resources on the is-land.Combined with the layout of human history resources,the completed situation was evaluated.The results showed that the Shamian Island had distinctive history and culture and good infrastructure,and there were 137 ancient trees living on there.The conception of the Shamian Ancient Tree Park was embracing century-old ancient trees and listening to the passage of time.The park was set to three areas including the education area,the exhibi-tion area and the social activities area,equipped with tourist signs and science signs,ancient tree knowledge popu-larization signs and ancient tree story popularization signs.The measures for protection and rejuvenation of ancient trees such as improving site conditions and site soil were proposed.The construction quality of the park generally achieved the standards of the ancient tree park.Finally,it is suggested that all associated factors,such as ancient tree resources,cultural deposits of ancient tree resources as well as the surrounding ecology and technolo-gy and economy should be taken into account when constructing an ancient tree park with local characteristics.
