Plasticity Analysis of Leaf Shape Characteristics of Phoebe chekiangensis Seedlings in Different Habitats
In order to understand the plasticity and adaptation of leaves of Phoebium chekiangensis to different habitats, leaf morphological characteristics of Phoebium chekiangensis seedlings under different habitats(pure forest and mixed forest)were investigated in Daqiuling village forest,Longquan City,Zhejiang Province.Standard spindle regression(SMA)was used to analyze the allometry of leaf morphology in different habitats. The results showed that the allometric growth index of the relationship between leaf area, leaf circumference, leaf width and leaf length ranged from 0.553 to 1.970,in which only the relationship between leaf circumference and leaf length showed uniform growth, while the other 5 pairs showed allometric growth patterns, which was highly similar to the results of previous studies. The allometric indices of leaf circumference, leaf area and leaf length were signifi-cantly different in different habitats(P<0.05).Further analysis showed that the allometric SMA spindle of other indexes in different habitats moved significantly along the y axis or slope direction(P<0.05).The main results were that under the same leaf width and leaf area, the leaf length and leaf circumference were higher in mixed for-est than in pure forest. The leaf size of mixed forest was higher than that of pure forest. The response of leaf mor-phological characteristics of Phoebe chekiangensis seedlings to different habitats showed strong plasticity com-pared with other plants.
