Analysis of Earth Slope Stability by Strength Reduction Method
Based on the strength reduction theory, this paper explores the reliability of the strength reduction method for solving the stability of soil slopes in non-pore water pressure and pore water pressure. The software FLAC3D is used to calculate the earth slope stability based on the strength reduction theory. In the case of non-pore water pressure and pore water pressure, the slope stability is analyzed by the strength reduction method. The non convergence of numerical calculation is used as the criterion of slope failure. The calculated safety factor is com-pared with the safety factors calculated by using the limit equilibrium method. The results show that the safety factors of slope calculated by strength reduction method are more convenient and reliable under the above two water pressure.
