Optimization of Composting Process Parameters of Sophora flavescens Residue
In order to conduct in-depth research and develop reasonable composting processes, this paper aims to achieve the resource utilization of Sophora flavescens residue, thereby significantly reducing the negative environ-mental impact of pharmaceutical waste, and promoting the green, circular, and sustainable development of the tra-ditional Chinese medicine industry. In this study, effects of material ratio(Sophora fllavescens residue, chicken ma-nure,and sawdust mixed in ratios of 1∶1,1.5∶1,and 2∶1),initial pH value(7,8 and 9),and inoculum PN-8 dosage(0.5%,1%and 3%)on the quality of Sophora flavescens residue compost product were investigated by L9(33)orthogonal design. The compost quality was evaluated using Z-score method comprehensive evaluation mod-el which established by weight loss rate, organic matter degradation rate, cellulose degradation rate, hemicellulose degradation rate, lignin degradation rate, seed germination index, total nutrients as evaluation indicators. The re-sults showed that the optimal parameter combination for the composting process of Sophora flavescens residue was a material ratio of 2:1(Sophora flavescens residue:chicken manure and sawdust),a pH value of 8,and an inoculation amount of PN-8 inoculum of 0.5%.The results of this study will provide guidance for the industrial-ized production of composting of Chinese medicinal residue, the recyclable utilization of Chinese medicinal resi-due,and the protection of the ecological environment.
