Evaluation and Maintenance of Ornamental Malus spectabilis in Taoranting Park
Taoranting Park has significantly developed spring-blooming plants,with a focus on Malus spectabilis varieties.This study conducted a detailed investigation of the biological traits of 20 Malus spectabilis varieties in the park,including flower color,blooming period,flower quantity,leaf color,leaf texture,leaf size,fruit color,fruiting period,and fruit quantity.A hierarchical structure evaluation model was used to comprehensively assess their ornamental value.The results indicate that the ornamental value of the Malus spectabilis flowers are the highest,followed by the fruits,and finally the leaves.Based on these findings,the Malus spectabilis varieties in the park were categorized into three grades.In terms of maintenance,differentiated watering and pruning methods were employed.These tailored care practices effectively showcase the unique beauty of each Malus spectabilis va-riety,enhancing the overall ornamental effect.
