Age-Friendly Landscapes in Rural Public Spaces Based on the Analytic Hierarchy Process(AHP)—A Case Study of Qilian Village,Huicheng District,Huizhou City
Since the intensification of population aging in China in recent years, addressing the issue of elderly care in rural areas has become a pressing challenge for the country. The suitability of rural public spaces for the elderly directly impacts their quality of life and sense of well-being.This study takes Qilian Village in Huicheng District,Huizhou City,Guangdong Province,as an example, using literature review, interviews, and the Analytic Hierarchy Process(AHP)to investigate the suitability of rural public space landscapes for the elderly. The study e-valuates the suitability of rural public space landscapes by constructing an evaluation index system, which identi-fies four main criteria:infrastructure, transportation, outdoor activity spaces, and green environment. These criteria are further broken down into 17 sub-criteria,including facility safety. The importance rankings are as follows:Bl Infrastructure 0.4586>B2 Transportation 0.3048>B3 Outdoor Activity Spaces 0.1432>B4 Green Environ-ment 0.0934.Using this model, the suitability of public space landscapes in seven village groups within Qilian Vil-lage was evaluated.Based on the evaluation results, the study identified the priority order of elements for renova-tion design and proposed relevant suggestions and optimization methods for creating age-friendly landscapes.
