Effects of Debagging Treatment and Weeding Methods on the Growth of Camellia oleifera Abel Young Forest
The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of different planting and tending methods on the growth of Camellia oleifera Abel young forest,in order to provide scientific basis for optimizing the management of Camellia oleifera Abel young forest.Four treatment groups were set up in the experiment:bag removal and non-bag removal treatment, manual weeding and herbicide spraying. The results showed that debagging had a sig-nificant effect on the growth of plant height and crown width of young forest. The plant height of the unbagged group was increased by 21.97%(manual weeding)and 27.44%(spraying herbicide),respectively. In terms of crown width, the crown width of group A and B was significantly higher than that of group C and D without bag removal, which increased by 5.26 cm and 4.04 cm,respectively. In addition, the way of weeding also had a signifi-cant effect on the growth of tree height and crown width of the young forest. The plant height of artificially wee-ded treatment group A and C was generally higher than that of sprayed herbicide treatment group B and D,and the plant height increased by 7.71%(bagged)and 12.55%(unbagged),respectively.In terms of crown width, the increase of 12.47%(unbagged)and 9.08%(unbagged)in manual weeding treatment group A and C was higher than that in spraying herbicide treatment group B and D,respectively. The results showed that debagging treatment and artificial weeding had a significant effect on the growth of plant height and crown width of the young forest. Therefore,it is suggested that in the management of young Camellia Oleifera.Abel forest, priority should be given to debagging treatment and artificial weeding in order to optimize the growth performance of young Camellia Ole-ifera.Abel forest and improve the production efficiency.
