Effects of Selective Cutting Transformation on Pinus Massoniana and Schima Superba Mixed Forest
In Qingliu State-Owned Forest Farm,Fujian Province,Pinus massoniana and Schima superba mixed forest will be selected for strip selection cutting in 2021(understory vegetation of Phoebe bournei,Quercus gilva Blume,Castanopsis carlesii,Castanopsis kawakamii Hayata,Cunninghamia lanceolata and Taxus wallichiana.var)and individual selection cutting reform, and the forest and its understory vegetation will be investigated and deter-mined in 2023.The results showed that the DBH and tree height growth of Pinus massoniana and Schima superba could be improved by both methods, and the single selection cutting method was more beneficial to the cultivation of large-diameter and high-quality trees. The preservation rate of the above 6 species of saplings was above 98%.After the same time of cultivation, the maximum crown width and tree height of Castanopsis carlesii and Castanopsis kawakamii Hayata Castanopsis were the highest, indicating that Castanopsis carlesii and Castanopsis kawakamii Hayata had stronger adaptability.Selection cutting contributed to increased diversity of understory vegetation.Strip selection cutting resulted in the highest Gleason index and Margalef index of the stand, reaching 4.02 and 1.57 respectively(compared to 2.8 and 1.34 for the control retention belt).
