Application of Drone Remote Sensing Technology in Monitoring Bursaphelenchus xylophilus Disease
To verify that drone remote sensing technology can efficiently and accurately monitor Bursaphelenchus xylophilus disease and dead pine trees, the current issues of low efficiency, inaccurate data, and untimely and im-precise decision-making in manual surveys are solved. This study utilized drones with fixed wings that can take off and land vertically to conduct aerial photography in the verification area of Jingu Town, capturing representa-tive remote sensing images of dead pine trees. The images were processed using Pix4Dmapper and YOLOv5 soft-ware for automatic stitching, identification, and localization. The obtained data were compared with the autumn survey results. The results showed that manually surveyed dead pine trees accounted for 71%of those monitored by the drone, with a drone monitoring identification accuracy rate of 93.94%and an average horizontal error of 4.1 meters for coordinate points. This technology can provide efficient and accurate monitoring services of dead pine trees for grassroots forestry.
