Characteristics and Source Analysis of VOCs Pollution in a University Campus in Shijiazhuang City
In order to study the characteristics of VOCs pollution in a university campus in Yuhua District of Shi-jiazhuang City and identify the sources of VOCs,55 VOCs on campus in mid-May 2024 were monitored offline by SUMMA canister and Gas Chromatography Mass Spectrometry(GC-MS),and the concentration distribution and composition characteristics of VOCs were analyzed.O3 generation potential(OFP)and Secondary Organic Aerosol generation Potential(SOAP)were calculated. The results show that:During the monitoring period, the average concentration of TVOCs(Total VOCs)in a university campus in Hebei city was 221.19 μg/m3,and the proportion of components was in the order of halogenated hydrocarbons>OVOCs>aromatics>alkanes>olefins>sulfur-containing compounds. The OFP contribution rate of aromatic hydrocarbons and OVOCs is the highest.Re-ducing vehicle emission and flux use is the key to control O3 pollution.Naphthalene,1,2,4-tritylene,1,3,5-trity-lene,paraxylene and toluene have a high contribution rate to SOAP.Controlling the emission of benzene series is the key to reduce the generation of SOA.Through source analysis and monitoring data analysis,it is found that vehicle exhaust emissions are the main contributing source.Pesticide sources,chloroethane,o-dichlorobenzene and other alkane and benzene series are the dominant contributing species. Therefore, vehicle exhaust emission control is the focus of VOCs management and control on campus.
