Analysis of Seasonal Concentration Variations of Atmospheric Volatile Organic Compounds in Handan City
This study aims to analyze the seasonal concentration variation characteristics of atmospheric volatile organic compounds(VOCs)in Handan City, providing a scientific basis for formulating targeted air pollution con-trol strategies. An AMA GC5000 online chromatographic monitor was employed to continuously measure the at-mospheric VOCs in Handan City from January to December 2023,determining the volume concentrations of 56 VOC species.Statistical analyses were conducted on the seasonal and monthly variations of four main VOC groups and major VOC components.Significant differences(P<0.05)were observed among the four main VOC groups across seasons.Alkanes exhibited peak concentrations in summer, while aromatics and alkenes showed higher concentrations in autumn and winter.Alkynes reached their maximum levels in winter.Major VOC compo-nents displayed diverse seasonal trends.Ethylene, ethane, and propane concentrations increased significantly in winter;isopentane and 2-methylpentane levels were higher in spring and summer;and n-dodecane showed a nota-ble peak in autumn.Monthly VOC concentrations demonstrated an approximate W-shaped fluctuation, with peaks occurring in January,July, and December.Atmospheric VOC concentrations in Handan City exhibit distinct sea-sonal and monthly variation patterns, with winter and summer being the primary emission peaks for VOCs.
