Research on Long Term Evaluation of Ecological Quality in Mining Areas Based on Remote Sensing Ecological Index——Taking Ningdong Coal Mining Area as an Example
The rational development of coal resources and the protection of the ecological environment are of great importance for achieving sustainable development. This study focuses on the Ningdong coal mining area and utili-zes the Remote Sensing Ecological Index(RSEI)to analyze the spatiotemporal patterns of ecological environment quality from 2003 to 2020.The results indicate that the overall ecological quality in this area is predominantly poor and very poor.Poor ecological quality areas are widespread, while very poor areas are concentrated around the Ningdong Energy and Chemical Base.In contrast, areas with moderate ecological quality are sparsely distribu-ted around Ningdong Town and the Luoshan Nature Reserve.Using the Mann-Kendall(MK)mutation test, the study also identifies trends in ecological environment quality changes, with most regions experiencing two signifi-cant changes, accounting for 35.80%of the total area. The frequently changing areas are mainly distributed in the concentrated areas of coal mining work areas in the northern part of the mining area, reflecting the poor stability of the ecosystems in these areas. The proportion of areas with improved overall ecological quality in the Ningdong coal mining area is 7.55%,mainly distributed in the areas of Majiatan Town in Lingwu City and Dashuikeng Town in Yanchi County. The study provides scientific evidence for the ecological environment protection and ra-tional development of the Ningdong coal mining area.
