Effects of Different Planting Densities on Growth and Understory Vegetation Diversity of Cunningham Cancellation Plantation
This paper investigates the effects of different planting densities on the growth and understory vegeta-tion diversity of Cunningham cancellation plantation.Focusing a Cunningham cancellation plantation plot in Jian-he County,Guizhou Province as the test site,four planting densities were set,namely 2400,3000,3600 and 4100 plants/hm2,respectively,to compare the growth of Cunningham cancellation plantation and understory vegetation diversity under different planting densities,so as to select the best planting density for Cunningham cancellation plantation and tending.The results showed as follows:the average tree height,average DBH and tree volume of Tl,T2 and T3 treatment were significantly higher than those of T4 treatment(P<0.05);There were no significant differences in average tree height,average DBH and tree volume between T2 treatment and T3 treatment(P>0.05).The storage volume of T2 treatment was significantly higher than that of other treatments(P<0.05).There were significant differences in the effects of different planting densities on understory vegetation diversity of Cun-ningham cancellation plantation(P<0.05),among which the Shannon-Wiener diversity index and Simpson domi-nance index of T2 treatment were the highest,and the Pielous evenness index of T1 treatment was the highest.T3 treatment had the highest Margalef richness index.It can be seen that different planting densities have different effects on the growth of Cunningham cancellation plantation and understory vegetation diversity.Among them,the growth of Cunningham cancellation plantation is better under the planting densities of 3000 trees/hm2 and 3600 trees/hm2,and the understory vegetation diversity is more abundant.
