Protection Strategy for Plateau Lakes in Yunnan Province Based on Functional Diversity
Wetlands,oceans,and forests are collectively known as the three major ecosystems in the world,with lakes being an important component of wetlands.It is of great scientific significance to carry out the protection of plateau lakes based on the diverse ecological,economic,social,and cultural functions exhibited at different time and spatial scales.In this paper,the distribution,the characteristics and the main threats of the nine major plateau lakes in Yunnan were summarized based on the theory of lake functional diversity.The diversity of lake functions and ecological service functions,as well as the implementation and challenges faced by plateau lake protection in Yunnan were systematically analyzed combined with the significance of plateau lake protection.Specific protec-tion strategies were proposed in the fields of lake protection laws,regulations and policies,lake protection plan-ning for functional diversity,lake ecological restoration technology and practice,and community participation.The strategies will play an important role in strengthening the protection of plateau lakes and the maintenance of ecosystem diversity in Yunnan,and provide scientific guidance for maintaining regional ecological security and a-chieving sustainable development.
