After the outbreak of the Marco Polo Bridge Incident, the medical missionaries from American mission-ary hospitals in the Yangzi River Area of Anhui-Jiangsu Province did not follow the evacuation suggestions of the U.S.State Department and resolutely stayed in the area. They experienced the separation from their families, faced harder evacuation situations after the war,and encountered various Japanese military in-fringements on their personal property, while continued to carry out medical treatment and humanitarian re-lief activities, saving countless people's lives who suffered from the scourge of the war and the Japanese a-trocity.They became the witnesses of Japanese invasion.Regardless of their reasons for staying in China, their noble humanity in the war deserves to be remembered forever.
