The so-called"hanging gardens of Babylon,"due to contradictions between classical literature records and modern archaeological evidence,do not match their name in reality.This issue has not only sparked numerous controversies in modern academia but also directly affected the teaching practice of world ancient history courses.Examining this issue through multiple historical sources can not only elucidate the reasons why the"hanging gardens of Babylon"are a misnomer,but also help cultivate students'historical thinking and literacy.
