The New Distribution of Bulbophyllum hirundinis in Shaoxing,Zhejiang and Its Potential Habitat in China
This article reports the new geographical distribution of Bulbophyllum hirundinis, studies its potential habitat in the current climate, and provides basic data for the research and resource conservation of this species. We measured and collected the morphological characteristics and habitat data of the newly discovered plants.Based on the current climate and environmental data and the collected geographical distribution data of Bulbophyllum hirundinis,we used the Maximum Entropy Model(MaxEnt)to analyze the dominant factors affecting the distribution of Bulbophyllum hirundinis and predict the suitable distribution area of this species in China.By comparison,we confirmed that the newly discovered plants were Bulbophyllum hirundinis. The Area Under the Curve(AUC)value in the Receiver Operating Curve(ROC)of the MaxEnt model is 0.939,indicating that the model has high accuracy and can predict the potential habitat of Bulbophyllum hirundinis well. The dominant factors affecting the distribution of Bulbophyllum hirundinis are average annual temperature, rainfall during the cold period, annual temperature range, average annual daily temperature range, and rainfall during the rainy period. In the current climate, the suitable distribution area of Bulbophyllum hirundinis is mainly located to the south of the southern transition zone, with a total area of 216.73×104 km2,accounting for 22.53%of the total area of the country. The average annual temperature is the most important climatic factor affecting the distribution of Bulbophyllum hirundinis, with a contribution of 56.1%.The most suitable distribution area of Bulbophyllum hirundinis is in Guangdong,Guangxi,Hainan,Taiwan and so on.The prediction results can provide reference for the conservation of Bulbophyllum hirundinis.
