The Impact of Physical Exercise on Values of Adolescents:the Moderating Role of Social Support
In order to explore the internal characteristics of participation,values,and social support of physical exercise of adolescents and the occurrence mechanism,this paper conducted a survey on a group of 2 092 adolescents(516 boys and 1 576 girls),using the Physical Activity Rating Scale(PARS),the Values Scale(VAS),and the Social Support Scale(SSS),applying the SPSS statistical analysis software,and taking three prefecture-level cities,Leshan in Sichuan,Hangzhou in Zhejiang,and Lishui in Zhejiang as examples.The results show that physical activity participation(r=0.713),social support(r=0.813)and physical activity participation×social support(r=0.799)are positively correlated with values(P<0.05);grade,physical activity participation,social support and physical activity participation×social support have positive statistical significance on values of adolescents(P<0.01);and social support plays a moderating role in the influence of physical activity on values of adolescents.Physical activity participation,values,and social support are positively correlated;physical activity participation and social support can positively predict values of adolescents,and social support has a moderating effect in the influence of physical exercise on values of adolescents.Education workers should guide adolescents to establish correct values through the linkage mechanism of"home-school-society".
