A Study on the Influence of Family Environment on Chinese Reading Ability of Primary School Students under the Background of Home-School Collaboration:Based on the Mediating Role of Reading Interest and Reading Engagement
The Chinese Curriculum Standards for Compulsory Education(2022 Edition)states that students should achieve the general goal of"learning to use a variety of reading methods and having independent reading ability"in reading.Good reading ability plays an important role in improving Chinese learning outcomes of primary school students,and the family environment is one of the important factors influencing Chinese reading ability of primary school students.Through a questionnaire survey of 270 students in three primary schools in Lishui,Zhejiang,the study finds that a good family environment has a positive effect on improving reading interest,reading engagement and Chinese reading ability of primary school students.Moreover,with the mediating role of reading interest and reading engagement,the family environment has a stronger positive effect on Chinese reading ability of primary school students.In order to better cultivate and improve Chinese reading ability of primary school students,the study makes the following recommendations:Schools should strengthen parents'reading guidance;parents should create a good family environment;and parents should make full use of community's specific reading resources.
