Simultaneous determination of 19 phenolic compounds in propolis by high—performance liquid chromatography—tandem mass spectrometry
To develop a high-performance liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrome-try method for the simultaneous determination of 19 phenolic compounds in propolis.Propolis samples were extracted by 85%ethanol after crushing and mixing, and the sample solution was separated on a Waters T3 column with a gradient elution using the mobile phase(methanol and 0.1%formic acid aqueous solution). The detection of phenolic compounds was performed by elec-trospray ionization(ESI)and multiple reactions monitoring(MRM)modes, and quantified by an external standard method. The 19 phenolic compounds showed good linearity in the linear range with the correlation coefficients(R2)greater than 0.99.The recoveries ranged from 87.4%to 107.8%with the relative standard deviation(RSD)of 0.9%to 7.6%.The method is simple and efficient for analysis of 19 phenolic compounds in propolis, and can provide technical supports for the quality evaluation of propolis.
