Study on the influence of volute tongue depth on the performance and noise of centrifugal fan
In view of the problems of high power and noise of the centrifugal fan for fresh air unit of air conditioner,the influence of volute tongue depth on the aerodynamic and acoustic performance of centrifugal fan was studied based on CFD simulations and experiments.The level of aerodynamic and acoustic performance of the fan within the flow rate range 25~60 m3/h for three schemes of volute tongue:A10,A30,A40 were analyzed emphatically.The results show that after optimizing the volute tongue depth,the simulated total pressure is increased by 5 Pa,the total pressure efficiency is increased by 17.28%,the experimental power is reduced by 7.8 W and the noise is reduced by 1.7 dB under the rated flow of 45 m3/h;Reasonable selection of volute tongue depth can improve the flow in the region of volute diffuser,improve the aerodynamic and acoustic performance of the centrifugal fan.The results can provide guidance for the design of centrifugal fan.
